This post is unsponsored and my honest/unbiased review.
If you’ve ever debated between professional lash extensions and at-home lash systems, you’re not alone. I’ve been getting eyelash extensions since 2008, back when lash extensions first arrived in the U.S. For years, I was committed to salon visits every two weeks. The results were gorgeous—but the cost of lash extensions (around $100 per fill) and the time commitment (an hour to 90 minutes per appointment) started to weigh heavily on me.

That’s when I started exploring alternatives like DIY lash extensions. Recently, I ordered the Winkclique at-home lash extension kit after seeing their ads highlighting a soft cotton lash band. This sounded like the perfect solution for anyone seeking a comfortable, long-lasting lash look without salon prices or schedules. One of the reasons I did not like other popular cluster lash extensions that I have tried in the past is the discomfort of the rough edges of the extensions, it would irritate my eyes so much that I couldn’t bear it.
Winkclique Application Experience
Because I’ve been applying false lashes for years, I didn’t struggle much with the application. The Winkclique lash system is similar to other DIY lash brands that claim to last up to a week. For beginners, there may be a learning curve, but if you’re used to strip lashes, it’s fairly straightforward.
Lash Comfort & Band Material
The main reason I ordered Winkclique was their marketing of a cotton band. Unfortunately, this was the biggest letdown for me. Instead of the soft, flexible cotton band I was expecting, the lashes had a rubber-like band—similar to other at-home lash brands. While not painful, I could definitely feel them on my eyes, which took away from the natural lash extension experience I had hoped for.
Longevity & Wear Test
I’ve only worn them for a couple of days, so it’s too early to say if they truly last a full week as advertised. So far, they feel very similar to other DIY lash extensions I’ve tried, such as brands that promise multi-day wear. I’ll continue to test them and may update this Winkclique review after more wear time. I have showered with them and they seem to be staying on as promised.
Final Thoughts: Are Winkclique Lashes Worth It?
If you’re looking for a lash extension alternative that saves time and money compared to salon fills, Winkclique is worth trying. However, don’t expect a dramatically different experience from other at-home lash systems—especially if comfort is your top priority. The cotton band claim didn’t live up to my expectations.
That said, the biggest advantage of Winkclique and other at-home eyelash extensions is flexibility. No more scheduling two-hour appointments or spending hundreds each month. You can apply them on your own time, at a fraction of the cost.
For me, part of refined living is experimenting with beauty routines that simplify life without sacrificing style. Winkclique didn’t completely replace the feel of professional lash extensions, but it’s a step toward balancing beauty with convenience.
