Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Place peaches at the bottom of the 9×13 baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a mixing bowl. Remove from microwave or stove.
- In the same mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, milk (or half-and-half/buttermilk), and self-rising flour until just combined.
- Pour the batter directly over the layer of peaches—don’t stir.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, until golden brown and slightly puffed.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the top with a mix of sugar and cinnamon.
- Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
